Yoanni Th. Matsakis is an aerospace engineer, technology entrepreneur, and European specialist in e?health, GDPR regulation, and clinical research management. He serves as Vice President of EUCROF and President of AFCROs, the French Association of Contract Research Organisations.

Educated at the National Higher School of Aeronautics and Space (ENSAE/ISAE?SUPAERO), he began his career in human spaceflight programmes for European space agencies between 1990 and 2000. He subsequently led a major research and development initiative in telemedicine, which resulted in the creation of Telemedicine Technologies in 2000, where he is Chief Executive Officer. The company develops cloud–based information systems for clinical trials, including the CleanWeb electronic case report form platform.

Yoanni has played a leading role in European data protection policy for clinical research. He chaired the international task force responsible for drafting the EUCROF GDPR Code of Conduct – the first trans–national data protection code formally approved for the health sector in Europe.
